This seems pretty cool... works with Twitter, Facebook, Nike+ and soon, Garmin. ---------------- Dailymile Brings Your Friends and Neighbors into Your Workouts [Exercise] via Lifehacker by Kevin Purdy on 12/19/08 Free workout tracker Dailymile works fine as a logging and analysis tool for your running, cycling, or other cardio-oriented training, but its highlights are the ways it uses friends and locality to motivate. It's a fairly new webapp, so don't expect to see many friends or fellow runners in your neck of the woods up just yet. But you can use Dailymile to connect your workout notes to Twitter (and, eventually, Facebook and other apps), and keep track of races and other events near you. If disappointing your exercise-focused friend is motivation enough to get you out the door, Dailymile is worth checking out. The site is a little AJAX-heavy, though, and left my Firefox browser chugging to keep up at some points, so don't expect a quick visit from a low-speed or

High Anxiety.

Things are just crazy, but I guess it comes with this time of year. I've been really anxious lately. My guess it's a culmination of everything going on at work (no worries about job security), a general lack of sleep, trying to keep up with everything and NOT getting to the gym. I'm still waiting on my bloodwork results too. You read that right. NOT getting to the gym. Ugh! I just feel out of sorts. Mom is coming on Sunday and maybe that has something to do with it too. I'm looking forward to Saturday, as we're taking Cassie to Austin to right the North Pole Flyer Steam Trainride. It should be lots of fun. :)

Ho, Ho, How Many Times Can We Visit Santa???

Testosterone, Thyroids & Fistula! Oh my!!

Okay... first, I can't believe how totally anxious I was about going. I mean seriously, my heart was in my chest. I weighed in at exactly the same weight I did last February. Uh, that's 10 months, a triathlon, the MS150 and Livestrong Challenge, ago. We talked. He validated my frustration, for what that's worth (that's a lot to me right now). He knows I'm frustrated -- and to that end, I think he is too. We both want to get to the bottom of things; he wants me to achieve my more than reasonable goals. He sent me for a shitload of bloodwork. Even the Phlubotomist blinked twice at the 3 pages of reqs. He said it would probably take up to 2 weeks to get anything back, but he said we should know something by Christmas but here's what we're looking at: 1) Thyroid Issues (never dectected before in the past, but possibly asymptomatic) 2) Insuilin Resistance - A state in which your cells are not responding to insulin appropriately, so the sugar in your blood ca

To do's: ∙ Accept my body... lovingly. ∙ Recognize where I was then and where I am today. ∙ Eat consciously and be aware. Today I am headed to doctor for my 2 year post-op check-up. I'm still not under 200 lbs. (As he insisted I should be by my next visit with him). I'd be lying if I said that isn't killing me inside -- as if I failed in some way. It easily makes me feel like a failure if I let it. It's hard -- it reminds me so much of when I was a kid and couldn't lose the weight under the threat of losing opportunities to do the things I loved. Ugh... stupid baggage.

Monday Food Journal

<--- Click to see the plan for today. I'm a little short on protein overall -- but that's what I get for not planning ahead of time. Today is my leg workout: Leg press, Barbell Squats, Leg Extensions, Seated Leg Curl and Traveling Lunges. Not much else to report. We got home on Saturday and quickly played catch-up with the rest of our neighborhood. It already looks like Christmas... We did our normal, yearly decor, but we're pretty certain our neighbors have us beat wildly on watts used. :) I'll have some pictures to post later... gotta get some work done.
